Uzana

Uzana site is a real discovery. A place huddled among venerable oak forests, known as the geographic enter of Bulgaria just 22 kilometers away from the town of Gabrovo . The ski season starts in the middle of December and ends in the beginning of April. The total length of the pistes in the site is 3 kilometers. The Usana site offers a professional ski piste that is 1300 meters long and is equipped with Pomagalski drag. This is actually the longest piste in the site. Part of the equipment is build with the support of the Tune town in Switzerland. The beginners can use the other 7- 8 small pistes. A lot of people from foreign countries come here to combine their vacation in the heart of the Balkan Mountain Range with the typical for the region folklore. That is why the local tourist enterprisers offer special courses for foreigners to learn more about the Bulgarian people, customs and culture.

Uzana is surrounded by the natural park "Bulgarka", which is famous for its venerable oak forests and miscellaneous animal world. Uzana can be easy described as a picturesque and huge alp. During the winter the visitors can hire motor sleights and have fun in the fluffy snow. Another attraction is the kite- sport. In the future the local enterprisers plan to build a ski- run piste that will pass trough the natural park "Balgarka". The surrounding sites of Uzana are suitable for spaleology and rock climbing. The possibilities for cultural tourism in the region are inexhaustible. In the nearby situated open- air ethnographic museum "Etara" people can learn more about the Bulgarian crafts. The "Sokolski" monastery is situated just several kilometers away from the Uzana site. The renaissance towns- Bojenci and Trqvna, which saved their architectural appearance 150 years, are also not far away.
